Play like a designer

Penny Arcade- Play Like a Designer
During these two videos the viewer primarily learns how to think and play like a designer. But they also learn how to enjoy more of what they play. It informs the viewer that to enjoy a game you don't have to play the entire game to figure it out but only 30 minutes to an hour. This means you can expand your gaming inventory by far. Giving the player more time to try new games and enjoy more of what they want to play. Thus giving the player the ability to become more knowledgeable of the gaming world and what interests people.

Penny Arcade play like a gamer

My opinion on the video of penny arcade I realized that when publishers make games they tend to know how to play a video game, like the controls and how strategic you have to be. A publisher always has to know the mechanics of a game because if he doesn't then the game wont be as good as it possibly can. To be a good video game designer you have to be able to observe while you play the game. Writing down what you feel during a roller coaster or a game is a good way to think how others may like a video game to be. It also taught me that playing video games can be fun but there is a lot of knowledge and hard work that goes into the games and we don't realize it. This is what I learned from the video.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl- A Review by Jacob Shaker

Super Smash Brothers Brawl- A Review  by Jacob Shaker

I think Super Smash Brothers is a good fighting game, sadly it feels like most of the attacks are spamy or weak.  I think the game would be better if it was more concrete instead of using the percentages.  I think that we should have had a tournament on a game like Soulcaliber.

Super Smash Bros

Super smash brothers is a fighting type game. Each player gets to pick a character each of which has different abilities, and they fight each other. A player wins by knocking his or her opponent off the platform. This was an interesting game to watch, because I've only ever played one or two games that I would consider similar to this one. The aspect of this game in particular that I liked better, was that instead of hitting a player until their health runs out, you play until one is knocked off the platform. I found this interesting, because in theory, one player is not more powerful then the other, because the game is not based on how high or low your health bar is, it depends on your ability to play and fight and stay up on the platform if anything else.

Super smash bro is a game about playing as different characters and fighting other players. Some of the characters are completely overpowered which makes the game not fun to play. Also the drops can be completely overpowered also. If someone else gets it you would be completely doomed. The game needs character balancing and drop balancing. The controller for the gamecube we were playing on was completely stupid also. The controls were very bad. Overall this game is not very good, it requires player balance, drop balance, and better controls.

Why I hate Super Smash Bro's

Why I hate Super Smash Bro’s, I hate it because certain characters have repetitive moves that sometimes are pretty bad, but it is the only way I could play. Some characters have moves that are just so over powered they knock you off in one hit. There are also parts you can pick up and build things to shoot people off the map and you can destroy this rainbow ball thing and get some super power that could possibly kill you. The rainbow ball and flying thing that you build are decent but there is no sense of character balancing. The maps suck, they are boring and don’t feel right only some are good. Overall the game is pretty bad the controls are not good at all.

Super Smash Brothers

Personally i have mixed emotions about the game Super Smash Brothers because I didn't enjoy the game that much but it was cool how you can be different characters from different game. There are about 30 characters that you can play, which have different tactics to battle against other players. The map set up and selection has a huge setup. I wouldn't buy this game because I thought the game was pointless to play.

Super Smash Brother

On Friday we played Super Smash Brothers and I didn't really like the game. Some of the reason why I didn't like the game was I don't play fighting game and if I did play a fighting game I wouldn't play that one its not my taste. When I played it the controls were a hard for someone like me who has never played a fighting game before. The theme that you choose to be in your background of your map were pretty cool. Another reason why I didn't like it was the characters I only knew a couple of the famous character. I don't see myself play fighting games in the near future.

Why SSBB is my Favorite Fighting Game

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is my favorite fighting game because it is fast paced, chaotic, and has extremely high replayability. You can jump in to the action with friends and have a blast regardless of their skill level. You can never predict what is going to happen. There is a high variety of stages, amazing music, and a huge roster.
Unlike other fighters, there is more luck and less combos/skills. While some may view this as a negative thing, I view it as a good thing. It balances the playing field and gives an element of unpredictability. Overall, SSBB is my favorite fighting game I have ever played.

Super Smash Bros Brawl

Super Smash Bros Brawl is a really fun game its also very addicting. I like its variety of characters and different moves. I also like the use of items you can find and pick up. I really had a good time playing this game and I could play this game all day. I like the use of a game cube controller instead of a Wii controller. I give this game a 10 out of 10.

Brawl

Brawl is my favorite game because it has great game design and very smooth interaction between characters. With many different character's and many different courses, there is plenty of options for which to play. The best part of the game is how a player can play verses another player on one screen while maintaining flawless graphics. I was brought up on pvp games, so those usually appeal to me more than campaign games.

Super Smash Brothers

Super Smash brothers is a ok game but it is not my favorite. I don't have a favorite fighting game. I only play sandbox or 1st person shooters. But SSB is an ok game and i would play it again. I would play it again because it has the characters i like in it and its looks a bit fun. But i don't have a wii so I wont get it.

smash bros

I think that smash bros is a good game. The reason I like it is because it has a unique fighting style, you can chose who you want to be. every person that you are able to chose has their own fighting moves. My favorite guy is Snake because I am good with him. You can also chose the arena where you fight your opponent.

Review on Super Smash Brothers

This was my first time playing a game like super smash brothers, and I somewhat liked it. This game was totally different for any game that I had really played before. This game took strategy like other games that Ive played but it was a totally different. In all the game was a whole different experience, from the type of game to the controller because I had never played a wii or nintendo before, well once when I was younger. I enjoyed the experience, in a whole.

Brawl Discussion

Last Friday we had the opportunity to play Super Smash Brothers Brawl in a tournament hot-seat manner of play. Theoretically, any game can be played in a hot seat format by players enforcing their own rules on the group (Winner stays, rotate every round, etc..) But this game had such functionality built in, letting the computer take care of the calculations for us.

Traditionally locally played games host 4 players at a time, but gameplay styles like this allow for much larger groups to play in an organized manner. Think about the way this game utilized a hot-seat system and some examples of how other titles from various genres could try to implement a system that allows for a larger amount of people to play built straight into the game.
