The best movie (in my opinion) that the late Lee participated in is the animated "Big Hero 6". An interesting collaboration between Marvel and Disney Animation, BH6 is about five youths and a healthcare robot whose "superpowers" come not from some confusing and unlikely origin story, but from real science. The group must work together to stop a mysterious masked villain who has stolen the protagonist's biggest invention--an army of 'microbots' that can perform virtually any task while controlled by a special neural interface. Being both Disney characters and Marvel characters, the six have likely already been featured in video games. Here's my own take:

You start as Hiro Hamada, the movie's main character. In the opening levels, the objective is simply to navigate different puzzles using the microbots. After progressing a short ways, you unlock Baymax the healthcare robot. At first, he is just a white blobby robot who follows you around:

But as a healthcare robot, Baymax has a readily apparent role in any video game: If you, as Hiro (or later, any of the others) get hurt--which can happen as the levels get harder--simply rendezvousing with Baymax can restore your health bar.

Once Baymax is unlocked, the other characters will start to appear as NPCs. You might glimpse GoGo testing a magnetic-suspension bike, Wasabi organizing tools near his precision laser cutter, Honey Lemon doing chemical experiments, or Fred hanging around reading a comic book. You might even glimpse the robotics professor, Robert Callaghan.

(Side note: Fred in the movie is one of BH6's shout-outs to Marvel. He is obsessed with superheroes in comic books and often dresses up as a cartoon monster. A glimpse of his family portrait, and the movie's after-credits scene, reveals that Stan Lee, or at least the animated version, is Fred's father. The after credits scene can be found here.)

The cameo in the movie

Once you've familiarized yourself with the basic game mechanics, disaster strikes. In a level resembling the exposition center from the movie, Hiro suddenly has his microbot controller taken away from him (the keys the player would control the microbots with will no longer do anything) by a mysterious figure in a mask. As the villain leaves, he sets the level on fire, requiring the player to escape without the aid of the microbots. In the next level, the player unlocks two new power-ups: One is a microbot compass that will point the way through upcoming levels, the other is the ability to play as Baymax, who now has armor and a host of new karate-style moves. (these will come in handy, since there will be minor enemies made of microbots that must be fought along the way).
The masked villain puts in another brief appearance, in a level that also reunites the player with the other NPCs. At this point, they now become unlocked as playable characters; the player will now be able to switch between characters at will. Each one unlocks a new "superhero" form and powers: Gogo has special super-fast skates and a pair of returning sharp-edged disk weapons, Wasabi has precision laser-cutting gauntlets to slice through things with his hands, Honey Lemon has a purse that can launch blobs of bouncy or sticky goo, and Fred has a monster suit that can jump extra-high and breathe fire. Hiro gains a new suit that allows him to ride on the back of the once-again upgraded Baymax, who can now fly. The scenes that inspired this upgrade are found here and here.

The boss battle features the masked villain with an army of microbots and a strange portal, which your protagonist gets to travel through in the end scene, revealing the identity and motives of the masked villain. (No spoilers here!)

As a gift for the years they worked together, Professor-X gave her a old farm plot in Stormdew Valley.

Equipped with only the old tools and her weaker but functional powers she will have to work hard to turn the overgrown fields into a thriving home!

The game starts with Ororo Munroe, arriving at the train station, once she steps out the train, she is greeted by a NPC named: Kitty Pryde, at the end of the conversation Ororo asks if she knows where the Xavier Farm for Gifted Gardeners, she says that she knows where it is and that she thought that it was abandoned, They head towards the farm, when they arrive another dialogue pops up, and she wishes her good luck.

The game revolves around Storms relationship with her neighbors, having a balanced life between work and friendship. At this age, Ororo powers are very weak, and stress plays a huge role in her strength, if the player stops talking to people, she will get more and more stressed causing her powers to fail or act in unexpected ways, and possibly damage your crops.

Stress if not the only problem in the game, because not everyone likes mutants, and this and your actions have consequences.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2229070574930675478.post-55916796291310929862018-11-07T06:14:00.000-08:002018-11-07T06:14:35.809-08:00Indie Game the Movie Review★★★★★
Indie game the movie was quite inspirational along with informative. Not only did it show the hardships and mental/physical toll that indie gamers often endure, but it showed the possibility of triumph, of outstanding success that follows such dedication and commitment. It reinforced video game design is a realistic option in my mind.
I think it was a better game all around and the people working on it seemed a lot more clam and human. the fez guy was a little crazy and the guy that made brave didn't seem very relatable but that might have been just because the documentary didn't spend much time talking with him.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2229070574930675478.post-30169339984241651952018-11-07T06:10:00.003-08:002018-11-07T06:10:25.676-08:00Phil Fish Is TerriblePhil Fish is a god offal indie game developer. He promises that the game would be released soon but then goes and remakes the whole thing. Then he goes and gets triggered when people start to say bad things about him and his game. He then goes and starts to threaten people and think that is fine. I think that we should send Phil Fish to an insane asylum for him acting like a psycho so he can go an get help. In the end Phil Fish is just little boy who is stuck in a grown mans body.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2229070574930675478.post-34771826993174300252018-11-07T06:07:00.005-08:002018-11-07T06:07:38.344-08:00

The documentary was very inspirational and it showed the hard times the developers had to go thought to make there games. It showed the possibility of hard work and at the end everything will work out.

Braid was only mentioned at the beginning, but appeared to be a typical fantasy/adventure. In the movie, Braid is the exemplary "successful indie game", selling just over 10,000 copies on the day of release. Super Meat Boy is the adventure of the titular protagonist, who attempts to save his girlfriend by traversing a maze full of dangers, mostly spinning saws. The twist: Meat Boy is 'not just a guy made of steaks...he has no skin'. (Quote from the game developers in the movie). As he climbs and jumps, Meat Boy leaves a trail of red particles that mark his progress; if he dies to a saw, that saw will remain red and "bloody" even after he respawns. The experience appears extremely painful, and is used as a motivation for Meat Boy to rescue his girlfriend, because she is made of bandages. The developers are quoted as saying 'she completes him, both metaphorically and literally'. I can see the intended purpose here, but I personally find the idea of a skinless protagonist disgusting.
Fez, on the other hand, is described as 'a stop-and-smell-the-roses kind of game...there's no boss fight...it's meant to be a relaxing gameplay' by its developer, speaking at a convention he attended despite a falling-out with one co-developer. The protagonist of Fez is a small white stick figure with a wide head, traversing what first appears to be the typical side-scroller environment...until he receives a cube-shaped fez and gains the power of three dimensions. With this power, Fez's protagonist can turn corners and access the other sides of the previously flat-looking towers (though the overall graphics still mostly show two dimensions). A big fan of relaxing gameplay, I much prefer Fez over Super Meat Boy (and probably also over Braid--not sure because of lack of footage and description).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2229070574930675478.post-72234910287699460132018-11-07T06:00:00.005-08:002018-11-07T06:00:18.778-08:00Indie Game: The Movie Favorite Creator Edmund was probably my favorite creator in Indie Game: The Movie. I think this because even though he had a wife, he was able to make the game day after day while being able to spend time with her. I also liked how he never gave up on his friend Tommy and encouraged him to keep going when he thought he couldn't. Edmund was also a good creator because the day of release he didn't care how much they sold the first day and didn't check the sales so he could be either disappointed or exited.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2229070574930675478.post-52678235720978979852018-11-07T05:57:00.005-08:002018-11-07T05:57:30.563-08:00Indie Game MovieMy favorite part of the movie was following the people who made Super Meat Boy and the process it went through.

Besides these, there are also the human characters--and they follow more traditional game-character tropes. There is the Protagonist (you). There's the Rival, whose team expands and improves as yours does, filling the role of returning antagonist. There are other Trainers and wild Pokémon to meet and battle along the way (minor antagonists). There are Gym Leaders (bosses) who if defeated will present you with a badge. There are the helpful NPCs who grant you advice, resources, and general assistance. And there's always at least one Final Boss, be it an elite and powerful trainer or the leader of the Evil Team.

World: In each Pokémon game, the world consists of a Region containing several roads, towns, and wilderness spaces. There have been seven Regions so far: Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, and Alola. Your character can wander the Region, though a path of game progression is usually followed.

Activity: While the Pokémon games may seem unique and, well, weird at first, anyone who's played D&D should recognize the basic battle mechanics, and they are quite complicated! An individual Pokémon will have not only a Species Name (such as Pikachu) and a Type (such as Electric), but also several stats (sometimes referred to EVs and IVs): HP, Speed, Attack strength, Defense, Evasion, Accuracy, Special Attack, and Special Defense. Moves used in battle can lower the stats of your opponent or increase your own stats, and there are literally hundreds of moves in the games. Each move has a Type associated with it, and a Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB) will be added if the user and the move have the same Type. Not every Pokémon can learn every move, and each one can only 'know' up to four moves at a time. The Type of the move will be factored with the Type of the target to determine the outcome, and a move may miss or fail, be "not very effective" or on the flip side, be "super effective" or even a "Critical Hit". As one may expect, the above stats of both user and opponent have a say in the effect of any given move. Plus, each move has PP (Power Points), which is similar to mana and can be restored with certain items. Other items, whether used one-time during battle or held by a member of your team, can have even more effects. Looking familiar yet, D&D players?
But wait. There's more! Certain moves can inflict effects on the target, which have different ramifications on the gameplay:
Burn: Caused by some Fire moves. Deals extra damage to the victim in each turn ("___ is hurt by its burn!")
Freeze: Caused by certain Ice moves. Prevents the victim from using any move in the next few turns ("___ is still frozen solid!")
Paralysis: Caused by certain electric moves. Has a similar effect to Freeze ("___ is paralyzed and cannot move!")
Poison: Caused by some Poison moves. Has a similar effect to a Burn ("___ is hurt by poison!")
Sleep: Caused by some Psychic, Fairy, and other Type moves. Similar effect to Freeze and Paralysis ("___ is still sleeping!")
Confusion: Has the chance to reflect damage back on the victim when the latter tries to attack ("___ hurt itself in confusion!")
Those Effects that prevent the victim from moving can also make them easier to capture in a Pokéball, since they have a much lower chance of breaking free while frozen, paralyzed, or asleep. For even more battle mechanics, try this webpage:
